How do you define creativity?

By Mx  //  Abstract  //  6 Comments

Sometimes I wonder, I keep thinking about different things, and there are so many things that still bother me because I find no proper reasoning for it. And one of them is: how do creative thoughts click your mind? What exactly is creativity? I believe it’s not about market research, experience and other geeky terms! But somehow some thoughts click your mind out of no where but out of YOU – really don’t know how :S

I sometimes get to hear negative comments from people around: silly, weird, sensitive and what not?! I don’t care about the comments but I think, a combination of this + freedom helps you to be yourself, to do whatever you want and that’s what it’s about. Not caring about what others might think, say or observe – but if you believe in something, work over it and bring it out, express yourself! And “kuch kuch na kuch naya hou jaya ga” :$

I know it might seem like an odd post but do share your opinion, how do you define it?

    One needs to be CREATIVE to define CREATIVITY, in a CREATIVE manner… lol :P

      Hehe, tussi bhi define nahi kar paye ;)

      @Adeel
      Yep, creativity needs freedom!

  • What would you say if I tell you this guy wrote an article saying he returned his new iPad because it limited his creativity.

    He got so much into that piece of hardware that killed his creativity. Idleness was what caused his creativity !

  • Creativity = Innovation … Ability to ‘create’ things. I say any person who continuously comes up with new things (and it maybe anything: music, painting, software or just about anything).

    The more interesting question is how do you measure creativity? How can you say one is more creative then the other, is it by the sheer no. of creations or is the quality? If its the quality then how do you measure it?

  • Nice thoughts.

    Let me give a shot. Something like an amalgamation (right mix) of freedom, personality, thoughts, and thought process (be that music, food, painting, software, write up…. [any other I may have missed]).

  • For me, its about expression.
