Olper copies AirTel concept in Ramadan ad!
I was passing by TV when I saw little portion of Olper’s new Ramadan ad for 2010 and it appealed me. Few days later, I saw it in on YouTube and the 1st time I saw it, I could see 1 scene copied from AirTel advertisement “little girl and boat”. The Vision Factory made a good ad but I couldn’t find any reason for copying whole concept of 1 AirTel ad. See for yourself, after 45 sec in Olper’s ad the little girl tries to cover the bird from rain..
And here is the AirTel ad, one of my fav

Come one people wake up… stop critisizing on every single detial in Pakistan… with due respect bro have you ever posted a blog in praising any add of Pakistan… I bet NO!!! the who are you to critisize on Olpers campeign…. Olpers is prime example of brilliant advertising…. if you have an idea give it if not don’t bother to comment.
@Yousuf
Olpers is a prime example of brilliant advertising by “copying” others, really?
There’s something as constructive criticism! One requires critical evaluations for them to come up with more productive outcomes the next time. They really don’t want dumb applauds just because they are a national company
But yes Mx.. we need to appreciate the efforts too!
Mx, Try focusing on what they saying..
” YEH RAAZ KISI KO NAHI MALOOM KEH MOMIN
QARI NAZAR AATA HE HAQIQAT ME HE QURAN”"
@Mx its not about copying or not its about appreciating or not… everyone feels proud to criticize everything but no one have the guts to praise a single thing about Pakistan… Be A Proud Pakistani and if you are show it.
doston… Ad tou achi thee… got the message across…. at the right time for the right cause….it ends there… dont take things too seriously…. CHILL…
Ohhh thats a good one Mx.

Since when did the vision factory started MAKING ads? TVF is just a production house, the ad is actually made by JWT but directed by Asim Raza. Who happens to be one of the most talented commercial directors today, you can check out his other work and only be inspired. And I think the word “Inspiration” is quite unknown in this part of the world – even if they took the clip from the airtel tvc, it was quite effectively improvised and didn’t give the same vibe. Thou I can totally relate to the last part of the ad where the family is sitting for iftar – such scenes have become generic for edible goods’ ads, so should I start claiming that the one particular shot has been copied from the zillion cooking oil and masala food ads?
Kindly stop making mo-hills out of hay. Just for the record its the agency which is responsible for the ideas not the brands. Blame them!
I was talking about a particular scene, a different concept: “little girl and boat”, which is not a common scene like any other muslim family sitting for iftar – or would you still call it generic?
I believe Olpers have enough rights to approve/reject any tvc before it comes on air!
