Iss se agay kahani kon likhay ga..?

Some thoughts have been pondering in my head from Sunday and I am not getting enough time to drop a post. Most of the readers on my blog are through half of their life and yet we are just living..

It struck me on Saturday during our “event management” class when a class-fellow suggested an event Celebrate Urdu as the semester project. It sounds interesting but then we had to go against it since the target audience of our college is not that type. We even got comments like “only old folks would be interested in attending the event” etc. But then we have forgotten our core values and we are living a life being someone else!

I know number of people, who are really ‘schweet’ (as the world comments on Facebook today) but when they talk to their parents, they are hell rude. Even in front of their friends, they would insult their parents. Even if our parents are wrong, we aren’t supposed to say “uff” to them and that’s what Islam teaches us. Today, most of us spend lives in the flow of society. Few would actually bother where their life is heading, what they want to achieve and what is the real purpose of our existence. We keep short-term goals in front of us and would strive our level best to gain them no matter even if we end up messing with our parents or Rabb. But then again, can you really succeed without the blessings of your parents and God? You may temporarily feel so but after few months, you’ll realize things have lost their charm – give it a try! It’s the era where we have forgotten what we should value, whom we should respect and how we should live.

Most of us are inclined towards materialist approach to life. We are only living in a flow, not sure about what’s happening around. You’ll always find some lot that will not be happy with what is happening in the land of pure people. Yes, much of it is not fair but together we can make a difference. People who have flown to West, Europe or even Middle East consider Pakistan as land of all mess-ups! Talk to them and they would just try their best to run away from this country as soon as possible. But aren’t all countries part of this earth? They are nothing more than manmade boundaries! People vary because of their deeds, based on what they value and respect in life. These values are inherited from the society we are living in making it a complete system. Some people might comment that every system has internal and external forces. But every external force is a result of internal force. All rules and norms that we follow in society due to external pressure is implicitly developed by internal force and that too humans! So if we correct ourselves deep down inside, we can change – we can make a difference..and we can change the place where we live in today, make it the land of pure people, kahani jiss ki abh hum khud likhein gae instead of being ruled out!

  • Awesome post. Agree with the point of leaving pakistan. People are really just changing boundaries. But then, they do monetary benefits when changing boundaries. I think We become patriots because a. We don’t have to struggle for money that much. We inherit from our ancestors or b. We are in the upper or upper middle class. If we don’t fall in a it b then I’d like to see that person………
