A brilliant initiative by the Pakistani youth to stand up and register their protest against American-Indian-Israeli involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan. The platform being used for initial assembly is a ‘Facebook’ group and will grow on to open student ‘chapters’ or ‘branches’ in every college and university in Pakistan. This is the mission statement, as on the group:

“RoYP is an initiative by students of higher education in Pakistan.

The group signifies the enlightenment and reborn awakening that the Pakistani Youth have found amidst state sponsored terrorism by USA, India and Israel inside Pakistan.

The group aims at spreading awareness amongst the masses and to bring it on record that the Pakistani people were, are and always be against US meddling in Pakistan affairs.

LET THIS BE KNOWN TO THE WORLD: OUR NUCLEAR PROGRAMME IS UNTOUCHABLE AND WE (THE YOUTH) WILL STAND TILL THE LAST DROP OF OUR BLOOD FALLS FOR IT PROTECTION”

You can join the group at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=186336686349

Spread the word and let us rise, with Unity!

Yesterday night, when the final match of ICC T20 word cup was played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka – bunch of twitter users from Pakistan tweeted a lot and before the match even started, #PakCricket was among the trending topics. It’s really fun to TWEET about cricket match on social media. You don’t miss any of your friends and the conversation keeps on going along with the match.

I wasn’t at home all day long due to MBA class and then had to visit some relatives. But as soon as Pakistan won the ICC T20 world cup, I was back on my PC and started tweeting with my fellow tweeters. And in a matter of few minutes, ‘Pakistan‘ was also among the trending topics on Twitter along with #PakCricket.

Pakistan not only won the T20 cup but twitter users from Pakistan showed the world that it was us, who played superb cricket and won the world cup! I was following trending topics on Twitter for hours and I could see users from western side commenting ‘what is this #PakCricket? :S’. Trending topic #PakCricket was receiving approximately 75+ tweets every minute.

People dance, eat, drink and celebrate. We TWEET to celebrate our victory and tell the world it’s us, Pakistan!

Today, common phrases have been developed which we get to hear every now and then. ‘Government kitna paisa khaati hae’ is one of the favorites. But if you ask me, its not them only – look around and you’ll find same situation on every level. Not that I favor any political party (because I am least interested in politics) but I have myself experienced the same theft on different levels. During my previous job, I saw peons and officers of different levels doing the same typical theft as per their capacity. Students in university try to do the same during university events. It’s just that we blame others before even analyzing ourselves.

We are a collection of individuals who all together can form ‘land of pure people’. But every one of us is heading in the wrong direction. As Muslims, we are divided into many sects instead of being one. As a nation, we are divided into Pathan, Baloch, Sindhi etc. As humans, our deeds are not even near humanity. We have great authors, people who blog aggressively and can really inspire some audience. But all we do is complain. We talk about change, politics, we discuss others but our attitude is not changing. We are not ready to take any responsibility on our shoulders, and our sufferings continue. The British/Hindu rule ended years back and we are a free nation now, yet we still do ‘Mangani’ and judge people by the way they speak English!

It’s about time we think, plan and act. Every one of us, each individual should adopt change, should seek some responsibility, and should avoid hurting people if only we want to leave a better nation for our generations. Now is the time when we can make a change because tomorrow will be too late for any of this. Rise and shine, wake up and hear the call, seek religion the way Muhammad (SAW) bestowed upon us. Perform deeds that have grounds. Respect humanity and love people around you. And it all starts from one-self because revolution starts within!

I missed it, couldn’t make it to the live coverage on the weekend to drop in my testimonial. TeaBreak.pk completes its 1 year of amazing service last weekend and the team celebrated TeaBreak’s 1st birthday online: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=113440610567&ref=nf

TeaBreak has really done a great job throughout the year. Initially when the little venture was launched in beta phase, the features didn’t impress me much but I knew the team would shape it in a better way. With the new UI, the team did not only make the aggregation more interesting but also introduced various features including ‘Featured Tea Bags’. I am myself running a venture (Connect2Pk) along with STUPEFY, and I know it takes a lot of efforts to come up with creative and new stuff that would keep your audience around. But TeaBreak has been really striving with new ideas like NewsBreak, TeaBreak newsletter, HotTea etc.

The team is currently working on TeaBreak v3.0 and I hope TeaBreak will give us a good break from our work for a mind blogging experience!
