Olper copies AirTel concept in Ramadan ad!
I was passing by TV when I saw little portion of Olper’s new Ramadan ad for 2010 and it appealed me. Few days later, I saw it in on YouTube and the 1st time I saw it, I could see 1 scene copied from AirTel advertisement “little girl and boat”. The Vision Factory made a good ad but I couldn’t find any reason for copying whole concept of 1 AirTel ad. See for yourself, after 45 sec in Olper’s ad the little girl tries to cover the bird from rain..
And here is the AirTel ad, one of my fav

Gallery Stats for axdimensions
I finally got a chance to update my DeviantArt account last week which reminded me of gallery statistics. I haven’t been designing much recently, kinda busy with more of development work and been avoiding Photoshop (my favorite photo-editing tool) due to piracy reasons! GIMP has been a good alternate as I am trying to get major editing work done through it. Thought I would share my boring gallery stats:
axdimensions has 4,111 pageviews total and his 74 deviations were viewed 20,528 times. Overall, his deviations received 54 comments and were added to deviants’ favourites 52 times, while he commented 30 times, making about 0.01 comments per day since he joined DA. This means that he received 18 comments for every 10 that he gave.
His deviation with the most comments is JWT: splash with 7 comments, while his most favourited one is newsletter: fall04 frontpage, with 5 favourites. His most viewed deviation is Newsletter layout with 1,257 views.
10 favourites were given for every 10 comments.
Every 27 days he uploads a new deviation, and it’s usually on a Sunday, with 19 (26%) of his deviations.
His busiest month was January 2006 with 17 (23%) of his deviations.
The majority of his deviations are uploaded to the designs gallery (67), while his favourite category was designs > web with 32 deviations.
Yep, I have been a little lazy with my teeny weeny gfx skill. I have been mostly designing web layouts and none of them got any extra ordinary stats among my other deviations :$ oops!

Is it the end of activeDimensions?
I haven’t been able to update my blog lately. People even buzzed me for it but there have been tons of other things on priority due to which I ain’t getting much time to share my thoughts. No, I am not just sitting and watching the sunset. Rather I am hoping and struggling during this sunset for a better tomorrow!

Tune up your blog in 31 days!
Hey folks, ‘ProBlogger.net‘ is running a 31 day project that’s called: “31 Days to Build a Better Blog“. Starting from April 1st, the idea is to implement improvements every day until May 1st.
The 31 day project will run in a simple manner. Users can subscribe to the posts via email and every day you’ll get the posts in your inbox – that’ll have two aspects: a teaching component and a practical component (task/homework).
ProBlogger is ranked among top-50 blogs that earns a lot through internet today. Let me share a bit from the AdSense blog who interviewed Darren Rowse over AdSense optimization:
October 4, 2003 is a date I’ll never forget – that was a day that my life changed. It was the day that I discovered AdSense and added it to my very first blog. I added that first advertisement to my blog on a whim, with what I thought was the lofty dream that I might be able to pay for my blogs hosting costs. Over 5 years later, those little text ads have paid my mortgage, fed my family, and enabled me to move my blogging from a hobby, to a part time job, to a full time job and beyond.
It’s not been an ‘overnight success’ by any means but as I’ve learned to use it, AdSense has been one of my highest online income streams.
Although this project is designed for beginners but many tasks will be relevant to intermediate as well as advance bloggers. I have myself subscribed to this project and will try my best to do a summary post once it’s over!

Read axdimensions.com using WAP
I had this little task pending from few weeks and I even tested out few plugins for it – but none of them worked really well. However, yesterday I tested 2 more plugins and I finally found what I was looking for! Yes, MobilePress does this job really well. Users can now simply type ‘axdimensions.com‘ from their handsets and they’ll be automatically redirected to the WAP version of my blog. Below is a snapshot of how a blog looks on WAP:

light-Bot
light-Bot, an amazing puzzle game for programmers (: My team-lead just shared this game with me and it’s really fun! (Click here to play light-Bot)
“Programming-style puzzle game. Give commands to your robot to light up the factory. Very soon you will realize though that using the main method on it’s own is not enough and you will have to start creating re-usable functions to achieve the ultimate goal.”

DAWN (beta) voilates Adsense policy
Yup, the new layout of DAWN website does violate Google Adsense policy on their homepage (click here to view the snapshot). I’ve been noticing it from about a month now and I must say, hi-profile (or at least highly visited) websites of our country should abide by policies or at least read them once before putting up 4 banners instead of 3/page!
