Hey folks, ‘ProBlogger.net‘ is running a 31 day project that’s called: “31 Days to Build a Better Blog“. Starting from April 1st, the idea is to implement improvements every day until May 1st.

The 31 day project will run in a simple manner. Users can subscribe to the posts via email and every day you’ll get the posts in your inbox – that’ll have two aspects: a teaching component and a practical component (task/homework).

ProBlogger is ranked among top-50 blogs that earns a lot through internet today. Let me share a bit from the AdSense blog who interviewed Darren Rowse over AdSense optimization:

October 4, 2003 is a date I’ll never forget – that was a day that my life changed. It was the day that I discovered AdSense and added it to my very first blog. I added that first advertisement to my blog on a whim, with what I thought was the lofty dream that I might be able to pay for my blogs hosting costs. Over 5 years later, those little text ads have paid my mortgage, fed my family, and enabled me to move my blogging from a hobby, to a part time job, to a full time job and beyond.

It’s not been an ‘overnight success’ by any means but as I’ve learned to use it, AdSense has been one of my highest online income streams.

Although this project is designed for beginners but many tasks will be relevant to intermediate as well as advance bloggers. I have myself subscribed to this project and will try my best to do a summary post once it’s over!

I had this little task pending from few weeks and I even tested out few plugins for it – but none of them worked really well. However, yesterday I tested 2 more plugins and I finally found what I was looking for! Yes, MobilePress does this job really well. Users can now simply type ‘axdimensions.com‘ from their handsets and they’ll be automatically redirected to the WAP version of my blog. Below is a snapshot of how a blog looks on WAP:

An extensive WordPress plug-in that generates META tags automatically for your posts! Let it be your post or home page, this little plug-in does it job automatically.

The plug-in works in an intelligent manner, META description is generated on the basis of page or post name respectively. Though when you are composing a new post, all post tags are automatically used as META keywords. However, in case of your pages (e.g. Home, About Me etc.), the plug-in compiles META keywords by putting all your category names, giving user a better advantage on search engines and specially in getting more relative Adsense Ads on their blogs!

Some of you might be aware of this fact but most you must be still assuming that WordPress.com does not display any advertisements on your blog. Well, that’s not so! WordPress.com does display Google Ads on your blog but that’s not very often. However, the advertisements are not shown to regular readers, due to which neither you nor your readers might have noticed any advertisement on your personal blog that’s hosted on WordPress.com.

In a recent post on WordPress.com blog, Matt announced an optional upgrade which enables users to go even more Ad-Free. Even most of the WordPress users were surprised to hear that WordPress.com displays advertisement and were confused about this upgrade. Here is a comment from their user, quoting from the post:

snape: I still can’t understand the main topic. Does a free blog wordpress.com automatically have ads? But if so, why does my blog don’t have that ads? I understand if ads on a personal or nonporfit blog can be so annoying and WP offer a paid upgrade to remove the ads. But I can’t understand WP offer a paid upgrade to remove an unexist ads. I’m confused.

Reply from author:

Matt: snape, all blogs on WordPress.com may show ads sometimes for the past 2 years now, including yours. The ads are shown very rarely and not to regular visitors, so you will probably never see one. Even though the ads were unobtrusive, some people didn’t want them at all, and this upgrade enables that. It’s completely optional, and if you aren’t worried about the low-level of ads that have been shown for the past 2 years you don’t need this upgrade.
